Search: Provider Services Index (Program Services) > Child Care Nurse Consultant Program The Child Care Nurse Consultant Program is a partnership between local Health Departments and statewide Child Care Resource + Referral Agencies. The Child Care Nurse Consultant Program was established in response to the growing need for additional support services in the area of health and safety in child care. The Child Care Nurse Consultant is a nurse employed by a local Health Department who may reside in a Child Care Resource + Referral office. The goal of the Child Care Nurse Consultant is to build strong connections between child health experts, child care providers and families to support healthy and safe child care environments and ultimately healthy outcomes for children in childcare. There are numerous services the Child Care Nurse Consultant can provide including: training, parent & child health education, assessment of health policies and procedures, telephone/on-site consultations, outreach to the child care community.
